Notixy
Features
What Notixy does, stated plainly: a searchable catalog of senders, five categories, quiet hours, a daily limit, and a one-tap way out. Everything here describes the app as it is built.
What it is
Notixy is a native iPhone app, built for iOS 26 or later, that delivers notifications from businesses and people — only the ones you chose to hear from. It is the place where you decide who may notify you, about what, at what time of day and how often.
Notixy is free for users and asks for no account: no name, no email address, no phone number.
Subscriptions and the catalog
Senders — businesses or individuals — are listed in a searchable catalog. Open a sender, choose the categories you want from it, and subscribe. Until you do, that sender cannot reach you at all, and afterwards it can notify you only in the categories you allowed.
A subscription can also carry an optional daily limit, so a busy sender cannot flood you.
You can also subscribe from a QR code. Scan a sender’s code with the camera inside Notixy or with the iPhone camera, or open its invite link, and the app opens that sender so you can choose what to allow. Notixy uses the camera only to read the code.
In Settings, “Show my QR” displays a code with your ID that a sender can scan to ask your permission to send you notifications. The code is renewed every few minutes. The request waits in the Senders tab, under Requests, until you allow or decline it; nothing reaches you before you allow it. Verified senders carry a seal.
Five categories
Every notification belongs to one category. Each category has its own length limits and its own retention on our servers — how long a copy waits there before it is deleted automatically. The app keeps its own history on your device.
- Time-sensitive — short-lived messages that are only useful right away. Deleted from our servers after 15 minutes.
- Appointments — booking confirmations and reminders. Kept for 30 days.
- Promotions — discounts and offers. Off by default: you opt in per sender. Kept for 7 days.
- Critical alerts — security and outage alerts. Kept for 7 days.
- Info — everything else worth knowing. Kept for 30 days.
Quiet hours and the daily limit
Set quiet hours for the time of day you don’t want to be disturbed. Whatever you haven’t allowed during quiet hours waits and arrives when they end: by default promotions and info wait, while time-sensitive messages and appointment reminders still come through, and you can change this for each category. Critical alerts always come through.
Quiet hours are saved on your Notixy ID on our servers, not only on your phone. The time zone picker sets which time zone they follow.
The optional daily limit is set per sender: once it is reached, you receive no more promotions or info from that sender that day.
Unsubscribe, pause, report
From a sender’s page you can unsubscribe in one tap, or pause the sender for 1 hour, 8 hours, 1 day or 1 week: its messages still reach your inbox, but without a sound or banner, and the pause ends by itself. Time-sensitive messages and critical alerts are never silenced. You can report a sender from its page or from a notification. A report goes into a moderation queue, and a sender that breaks the rules can be suspended.
Find, pin and tidy up
Search finds any notification by words in its title, text or sender name. It ignores upper and lower case and works in every language.
Pin up to 5 important messages to the top so they stay in sight.
A deleted message moves to Trash and waits there for 7 days; “Restore” brings it back. The inbox keeps messages for 30 days, and every message shows the date it will be deleted automatically.
Message details
Open a message to see when it arrived, in your local time and in UTC. If the sender provides a link, an “Open in …” button takes you straight to that app. “Report this sender…” is in the same place.
A time-sensitive message shows a short reference such as XBV-123; check that it matches the reference the sender showed where you requested the code. You can select and copy any part of a message, or copy the whole message with one button.
Works without push
If you turn push notifications off, Notixy still works: it fetches your recent notifications when you open the app, and push only makes them arrive sooner. Notifications are grouped by sender with their read state, and the history on your device is yours to delete.
When you first open Notixy, allowing notifications is optional: “Not now” works, and the app carries on without push.
Check notifications
Not sure notifications reach your phone? In Settings, “Check notifications” sends a test notification from the Notixy sender in a category you choose.
If Notixy is blocked
Experimental: on networks where Notixy is blocked, the “Route via proxy” switch sends the app’s requests through the Notixy proxy.
Your identity
Notixy knows your install by a random ID. Your ID, NX-XXXX-XXXX, is a short address you can give a sender; it is an address, not a password. You can choose an optional nickname — a name, not a login. A sender sees your nickname only if you switch on “Show my nickname to this sender” for it (off by default), or if that sender requires nicknames, which the app tells you before you subscribe. In Settings, “Delete my data” removes your ID, nickname, subscriptions, settings and messages from our servers and from your device.
Seven languages
The app is available in English, Deutsch, Español, Français, 日本語, 한국어 and Русский, and notifications are rendered in your language.
